This just in...Apple not Exhibiting @ NAB this year...

Curious. I just heard that Apple isn't exhibiting on the main floor @ NAB.

Anyone can verify?

I'm sure they'll be lots of backroom stuff, but not on the main floor. Not Avid and now not Apple.

More on that here

Something's due to be announced...

Pay attention to MacWorld. The day after, there's something new from the pro app group going to be announced.

Yeah the pro apps were updated

All the proapps were updated yesterday. And if you're on leopard it fixes a bunch of things (in other words, if you were foolish enough to jump to leopard with your production system, run software update now.)

If you were 'holding off'...this might be a good time to test the water, or go over to MacFixit and wait a couple of days to see if anyone singes their fingers off.

Proximity

proximity: "We are pleased to announce that all Proximity technology and intellectual property, including artbox workgroup and artbox enterprise, was recently acquired by Apple."

editors's note: Oooh. Look what Apple bought. A Video management solutions I wonder what they'll do with this.

About the Blackmagic Gamma filter for Final Cut Pro

Final Cut Pro: About the Blackmagic Gamma filter for Final Cut Pro: When using Final Cut Pro 5.x to open clips previously captured with DeckLink 4.x or older drivers, a gamma shift may be seen in the video in some cases. A filter can be used to adjust the gamma to the expected level.
