How to use Techspansion's open source to build iSquint and VisualHub

Boy I miss Visual Hub.

Whenever someone would ask for a cheap WMV or Flash encoder...Visual Hub was the way to go. Sure there were better tools (more options, easier controls.)

But most of all it was cheap. Like $25.

It's now an open source tool - and it belongs in your toolbox.

Here are the (EASY) steps to build it from the Project.

FCS Remover - Uninstall Final Cut Studio, Final Cut Pro, Motion, Compressor, Soundtrack Pro, Color, DVD Studio Pro, LiveType, Cinema Tools

FCS Remover updated.
Yeah, obviously don't "Test" this one out. Just put it in your tool belt and hope you never need it.

This utility allows you to uninstall all Final Cut Studio components with the press of a button. Apple does not offer an uninstaller, making removing or downgrading to an earlier version very difficult. Simply deleting the Final Cut Studio application icons does not remove the suite, nor does it make it possible to reinstall it again. FCS Remover allows you to quickly and easily uninstall Final Cut Studio either permanently or in order to reinstall an earlier version over the top.

Edit detection in After Effects : Capria.TV

I think this is pretty cool.

It's a scene detection script for AE - breaks a finished QT file into the original shots.

I wonder if there would be a way to use this to generate an FCP timeline (or via XML.) Probably not. Ideas?

Digital Heaven: Final Print, Movie Logger, big time

Digital Heaven (www.digital-heaven.co.uk) one of the leading creators of software for Apple's pro apps, today announced the release of Final Print, a companion application to Final Cut Pro.
Final Print provides a useful workflow enhancement when handing off a project to other members of the post production team. Notes of shots to be worked on are made directly in Final Cut Pro as markers and exported to an XML file. Final Print opens the XML and displays a list of clip and sequence markers along with name, comment, timecode and thumbnail image. The list can be printed or saved as a PDF file.
MovieLogger v1.5, is a QuickTime logging software for Mac. The new version is a Universal Binary for optimum performance on both Intel and PowerPC Macs and adds support for HDV and DVCPROHD movies.
The MovieLogger interface is designed to be so simple to use that anyone can be logging their movies within minutes. Logs can be created with in and out points and a text description added. These logs can be exported to an XML file (for import to Final Cut Pro) and rich text files for printing or further editing.
Also updated today is BigTime v1.5 , the resizable floating timecode display for Final Cut Pro 5. BigTime is designed for editors working with clients so they can view the current source clip or sequence timecode from across the room. The new version is a Universal Binary and features improved memory of Final Cut Pro's control surface assignment.
